Chinese Greens with Oyster Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 300 gms chinese greens/ bok choy/ broccoli
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger
  • 3 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp caster sugar
  • 200 ml water
  • Salt to taste

Steps

  • Use a large microwave safe bowl and place the chinese greens in it with salt water
  • Microwave for 5 minutes, until the leaves and stems are bright and tender and wilted.
  • Drain the water completely and set aside
  • In another microwave safe bowl add sesame oil, ginger, soy sauce, caster sugar and microwave it for 3 minutes until golden
  • Remove from microwave and add the greens to the bowl
  • Heat the oyster sauce in a small microwave safe bowl for 30 seconds and pour over the greens while serving
  • Serve hot with rice or noodles
